Henriettenplatz was named after Louise Henriette of Orange, a Dutch princess who married the Brandenburg Elector Frederick William, who went down in Prussian history as the Great Elector. A small stele commemorates her and her husband.

The three-part stele was donated by Dutch companies in Berlin and erected after the redesign of Henriettenplatz in 1988.

The portrait reliefs depicting Louise Henriette (former Electress of Brandenburg and the first wife of the Great Elector) and Friedrich Wilhelm (former Elector of Brandenburg and Duke of Prussia) are casts made of artificial marble based on originals from 1647 by François Dieussart.

The inscription on the memorial stele reads:

    1627-1667
    LOUISE HENRIETTE
    PRINCESS
    OF ORANIA-NASSAU
    1620-1688
    FRIEDRICH WILHELM
    MARGRAVE OF BRANDENBURG
    THE GREAT ELECTOR
MARRIED IN 1646 IN THE HAGUE
