The park band West leads quite nicely, without a single traffic light and little traffic from Weitmar to the Jahrhunderthalle and closes the gap between the Springorumradweg and the Erzbahntrasse, but it is not signposted. Without Navi's not. The above highlight was recorded including the forced laborer memorial.
Here's the section on navigating without dodging:

This is not a side trip, but completed in the winter of 2016/2017 low-car and slope connection from West Park / Erzbahntrasse / Jahrhunderthalle to Springorum cycle path at Haus Weitmar. Contrasting typical postindustrial park landscape, allotments and partly funny route including railway lines, e.g. Mining trench Engelsburg. The detour to the Memorial Acid Meadow is included.
The path has a few steep short ramps, but also very good design features such. secured road crossings. Architectural highlight: the small tunnel under the Bergisch-Märkischen railway line in the forest.

On the way you can take a short detour to the “Saure Wiese Forced Labor Camp Memorial”, see komoot.de/highlight/1449521.
