A farm was mentioned in documents as early as the 11th century in the Weitmar Castle Park, from which the first manor, Haus Weitmar, developed in the second half of the 15th century. In 1592, Johann von Hasenkamp built a moated castle from Ruhr sandstone, the ruins of which can still be seen today. Today, history meets modernity here, giving an unusual sight.
