Großer Daumen Summit

The big thumb is a worthwhile goal even without the ascent of the Hindelanger via ferrata. We took the bus from Hinterstein to the Schwarzenberghütte station and climbed up from here. Keep left at the Engeratsgundsee and easily reach the summit, from which you have a beautiful view of the entire Allgäu, from the Hindelanger via ferrata to the Hochvogel. Just a great panorama. The descent over the little thumb requires a head for heights over the short ridge, but it is definitely worth it. If you want to save yourself the bus on the way back, you can also descend directly to Hinterstein, through the small valley and past the Mösleaple. This descent drags a little, but is still very beautiful. :)

Very nice viewpoint with lots of space

Away from the Engratsgrundsee over the Türle and further through the Thumbscharte at the summit, a beautiful, partly rocky path. Partly "secured" with iron steps/ropes.
