Kenmare, or as the locals call it, "Neidín" - the little nest - is a colorful, lively place that is perfect for a pit stop or as a starting point for hikes in the region. Nestled between the dramatic Macgillycuddy Reeks in the north and the wild Caha Mountains in the east, Kenmare invites you to get to know the cozy side of Ireland. As you stroll through the picturesque main street with its brightly painted houses, you immediately feel welcome. The small town has something special that you don't find everywhere - a mixture of coziness and activity. Cafés and pubs line up next to each other, and the smell of freshly baked bread and Irish stew wafts through the alleys everywhere. The mix of traditional Irish architecture and modern vibrancy is particularly striking.A little tip: If you have some time, you should definitely visit the stone circle on the edge of the town. A relic from the Bronze Age that lies mystically in the landscape. The contrast between the ancient history and the modern vibrancy of Kenmare is what makes this place so special.Kenmare is not only a destination for city strollers, but also the perfect starting point for hikes in the surrounding mountains or along the coast. Whether you are planning a long hike or just want to enjoy the atmosphere - this place offers you both. Take your time, sit in one of the small street cafes and observe life around you before you tackle your next stage.

Nestled between the Macgillycuddy Reeks in the north and the Caha Mountains in the east, the essence of Kenmare ifs captured perfectly in its Irish name, Neidin, which means 'little nest'. Full of colourfully painted houses, great places to eat and even a stone circle it makes a great place for a pit stop or even to stay as base for a hiking trip.
