The erratic boulder in the Wittenberge city park is a striking Ice Age relic, often mentioned in connection with the green recreational area near the water tower. It serves as a natural monument and a testament to the last ice ages, which was uncovered during construction work or landscaping in the city area. The stone is a popular destination in the city park, which functions as a local recreation area.
Like most erratic boulders in the region, the stone was transported from Scandinavia to Prignitz by glaciers during the Elster or Weichsel ice age.
