The old "Bürgerhaus" burned down in 1558, and with it all documents were destroyed, as well as the awarding of the municipal law (between 1228 and 1239). The second building suffered the same fate. Rebuilt in 1695, in 1703 a fire in 1860 put the city in ruins. In 1713, the town hall was inaugurated in its present form. The clock in the tower is a one-hand clock and displays only the hours. In front of the town hall is the bronze statue of the "Bretzeltante Anna Grieben". A 17th-century personality and benefactor of the city of Lenzen.Source:

The first town house in Lenzen fell victim to the city fire of 1558. It was said that "... all documenta and obligationibus were completely corrupted and turned to ashes". The newly built town halls were also destroyed in the town fires of 1652 and 1703. Today's town hall was built in 1713 “more graceful than before”. Around 1756 a tower clock was commissioned, which as a special feature only has one hand that only shows the hours. In 1994 the building was extensively renovated.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenzen_(Elbe)
