The chapel is located in a small cemetery on the outskirts direction Meetschow. It was probably built around 1100 and contains Romanesque and Gothic style elements. Originally it was located in the midst of a sovereign estate and formed the center of the Höhbeck landscape. Later, the place Gartow took over this function. In 1721 a fire destroyed all documents. 1754 it came to the partial demolition of the building and subsequent reconstruction. The present form of the building dates back to that time.
