The chapel is located in a small cemetery on the outskirts direction Meetschow. It was probably built around 1100 and contains Romanesque and Gothic style elements. Originally it was located in the midst of a sovereign estate and formed the center of the Höhbeck landscape. Later, the place Gartow took over this function. In 1721 a fire destroyed all documents. 1754 it came to the partial demolition of the building and subsequent reconstruction. The present form of the building dates back to that time.

A treasure is the carved late Gothic winged altar (early 15th century, renovated in 1693) depicting the crucifixion of Jesus, the 12 apostles and figures of saints. The carved pulpit is from 1686
