Today we went to Glinde on a family visit and handed over a balloon for his 18th birthday. The party was canceled due to Corona and the balloon then conquered the "freedom" when chatting by far. 😳 🎈A Utopia Roadster can be seen in a photo. Very interesting frame geometry: It is a "light cross frame" and more information at:

In the best weather we went on a bike tour today. Since my off-rohler is still in the workshop, I drove with a bionicon. It went very well because we were mainly on the road. It is great that the construction site of the cycle path near Papendorf has been completed and there is a great road surface here! We went on to Todendorf: "Our" stork was again brooding on its nest and a little further we saw 5 great egrets! and three cranes in a field. Excellent! Even the little harbingers of spring are peeping out of the ground everywhere: wood anemones, celandine, wild hawks, lark spur and even coltsfoot. What I found particularly beautiful today was a flying lemon butterfly and a very fresh peacock eye!
In Hoisdorf we happened to meet Vincent and had a chat with more than 2m safety distance. After a short time a resident spoke to us about her property, that something like that is not allowed to meet more than two people. And yet we are unteachable and in general ... That shows me that this exceptional situation is very scary for some people. But we have deliberately not put together as densely as many young people still do in parks.
Hopefully this spook will be over soon!

When the weather is fine, take a "little" walk around the Bredenbek pond. Seen a lot: a guardian angel for horses, a playground closed to Dalmatians, a plaque at a small Jewish cemetery, the empty "Lindenhof" and many spring messengers! 🤩But now we all have to get through this 💩 corona pandemic together. Please stay healthy all together!

Today we set out again with the spotting scope towards Ostend. There are beautiful shots of the spoonbill and a large collection of "Hallig storks" (oyster fishermen) shot. 🤩 The oystercatchers made "noon" when the flooding hit.
Unfortunately, this was our last day on Langeoog. 😢 Tomorrow we will take the ferry back to the mainland.
CONCLUSION: Langeoog is worth a trip and a day with a super storm brings fun. 😎 But the dunes are getting smaller and smaller. ☹️Original text of the LangeoogNews:

Today was a great day because it was super windy with 85 km / h wind force and up to 110 km / h in gusts. The wind chill effect was announced at 4 degrees dadurch, but we did everything in terms of clothes! It worked great. 😉 And it was a lot of fun walking along the beach in the strong wind and almost being blown away.
In between we had to have a very delicious cake in Café Leiß! and East Frisian tea and then coffee. The warm-up was included. 😉
After another lap on the beach, we went to the sea jug for dinner. And it was fabulous! 😋 The bottle of Beaujolais and the Langeoog water also contributed to the great impression. With a starry sky, we went back to the apartment. The wind had died down now.

Today we set off on our landlords' eBikes in sunny, slightly windy weather. The first goal: the nature trail at the Flinthörn nature reserve. That looks exciting, but only the usual suspects were present: lots of gray geese, herring gulls and 5 deer. Unfortunately, no hunting short-eared owl "advertised" on the information boards. 😢 We continued towards the port. At one point we looked over the Flinthörndeich with our binoculars and saw about 20 snow bunting. 🤩 Because our breakfast had been so long ago, we had to fortify ourselves with a crab roll and a jever on the terrace of a small restaurant with the best view of the harbor. 😋 Then we continued leisurely to the big Schlopp. And here, too, we saw 35 geese on a random, courageous look over the dike. 🤩 Various types of ducks were still to be found on the meadows at the large Schlopp. Larger overflowing groups of golden plovers were great, of which around 900 had landed on the meadows. 😍 We shortened the way back to the apartment in the Seekrug restaurant with East Frisian tea and super delicious cakes. 😋 A table is already reserved for tomorrow, because regional food is served here entirely in organic quality. We are happy to support something like this!

Today we borrowed a bike with support - since we both were a little tired. So we drove comfortably towards Ostend. At the bird keeper's house, we made another stopover and were able to count 21 Löffer from an elevated position. Brilliant. And they even breed there! 🤩 From the street we could only count around 8 individuals.
Continue past the closed café of the dairy farm to the bicycle parking lot at the Ostend. From here we walked to the observation platform, from which we could see many species of birds. 😃 But unfortunately no seals or gray seals. 😢 On the way back we climbed the highest dune of Langeoog with an insane 21m height. And to extend the way back we went to the port.
Conclusion: Super many birds and rarities (for me) seen. A bike with support is quite nice. 😉
