The local Romanesque church is the oldest surviving building in the town in terms of its architectural core.

The church has been rebuilt several times. The most comprehensive was probably the conversion of 1729. The church also received its current interior design with the baroque furnishings of the nave. In 1729 the galleries were also installed. The local church did not get its characteristic octagonal (baroque) church tower until around 250 years after the Reformation (1780).

Only the crucifix, which has survived from the pre-Reformation period, is of art-historical value.

The pulpit dates from 1884 and was sawn off halfway up in 1970. The wooden baptismal font with a pewter baptismal font was donated by the then manor owner in 1816 and restored in 1970 true to the original. The altar place was raised in 1970 and a new altar was built.
