The mountain rescue hut is a little below the Kösseinehaus, at the Kösseine Cross.
From there the forest road runs towards the Hohenbrand hiking car park and Luisenburg, and another junction towards Kleinwendern. And from the mountain rescue hut on the left you come to the 922m high small Kösseine, and then back to the Höhenweg, or Franconian Mountain Trailtranslated by
