The 230-metre-long small viaduct, also known as the Dune Viaduct, spans the Dune valley at a height of 33 metres with 11 arches. Like its "big brother", the Altenbeken Viaduct, which is located about three kilometres further east, it was built between 1851 and 1853 as part of the Paderborn - Altenbeken - Warburg - Kassel railway line. To the west above the viaduct is the viewing platform built in 2014, which offers a great view of the viaduct and the Beketal.
