A very interesting place. I just wonder if they were really graves. As far as I know, hardly any human remains have been found in the so-called "megalithic graves". But I think that's what makes it even more exciting and interesting that you don't know for sure how and why these megalithic systems were built. The place can also be used very well for a little break during a bike tour, there are a few benches on the site, there are also benches and a rubbish bin in the replica of the Neolithic sheep pen, so you can also use it in "bad" weather (e.g. rain) take a break and is well protected from wind and rain (only the entrances on both sides of the sheep pen are open and cannot be locked).

The megalithic tombs near Altenmedingen (also known as the Royal Tombs) are a group of three preserved megalithic burial sites from the Neolithic Funnel Beaker culture. The sites were first recorded in the 1840s.

The "royal tombs" are a bit hidden next to the road, so you have to drive comfortably, so you do not rush past it 😉
