In April 1988, the stele "Energetic Reflections" by artists Manfred Vollmert and Heinz Gardzella was smoldering. The artwork, which was set up in front of the train station, consisted of two bog oaks from a coal seam near Leipzig, the basis of the brown coal industry, and a concave stainless steel back wall. The sun had charred the bog oak at the focal point of the reflective steel wall, and the fire brigade had to put out the fire twice before the tertiary trees were prepared with a non-flammable coating of colored concrete.
