Directly at the intake structure there are the associated display boards and seating to watch the flooding. Flooding began in April 2019. On the LEAG website there are weekly current figures on the fill level, the feed and the proportion of Spree water. More than 80 percent of the water required is to be taken from the Spree. leag.de/de/geschaeftsfelder/bergbau/cottbuser-ostsee

After 30 years of coal mining in the former Cottbus-Nord opencast mine, a new excursion destination will be created in Lusatia by the mid-2020s: the Cottbus Baltic Sea. The Baltic Sea is to become the largest artificially created inland lake in Germany, a cycle path will then lead around the Baltic Sea and a large network of cycle paths will be created.

Nice cycle path on the Cottbus Baltic Sea, at the AT Merzdorf there is a great view.
There is no good look at this point.
