Until around 1840, the city wall with the Nebra Gate stood here in front of the roundabout at Burgring. To improve access to the city, the bastion gate with its drawbridge from the second half of the 15th century was demolished, and the 15-meter-wide city moat in front of the wall was filled in. Along the street, relief stones in the tarmac allow you to retrace the course of the walls in their final state.
