The Walkenbachfurt is the only historical stream crossing within the village that has been preserved and over which the Walkenbach still babbles today via a paved path.

Several paved fords have been laid out on the Walkenbach. This is the only one that has been preserved within Michelbach. Bridges only came into existence when truck traffic increased with industrialization. For the dear cattle every ford was a welcome drink.
