The Hof German-Finnish Society donated this pavilion to the 1994 State Horticultural Show. It was founded in 1980 and maintains an intimate town twinning with Joensuu. There is the same club there, just harder to pronounce: Joensuun Suomalais-Saksalainen yhdistys. By the way: The hut is unique and was designed by the Finnish architect Martti Aittapelto especially for the 1994 Hof State Horticultural Show.
By the way: The green symbols are not ancient runes from the Viking Age, as we suspected. We asked: The architect simply wanted a splash of color and simply sawed abstract tree symbols out of veneer wood...
