The Untreusee in Hof is an artificially created reservoir and is mainly used for tourism and local recreation. In addition, it also serves as flood protection and low water elevation.
The name Untreusee comes from the Untreubach which feeds it.
The Untreusee was created in 1976. It is approx. 2 km long and 700 m wide. The maximum depth is 15 m. With normal traffic jams, the Untreusee takes up an area of 0.6 square kilometers. The overflow of the lake flows 1 km before the dam between the 2 Hofer districts of Moschendorf and Döhlau.
