The atmospheric ruins of Llanthony Priory stand in the Vale of Ewyas, encircled by the Black Mountains. The priory was one of the earliest houses of Augustinian canons to be founded in Britain, its origins dating back to around 1100. There's a cafe, hotel, campsite and parking all within a stone's throw of the priory, as well as fantastic running along the mountain ridgelines to either side.
