In a cozy spot below the castle garden and near the weir of the Meuschauer mill there is a fountain that is called the “Schlossquelle” and invites you to linger along the Saale cycle path. Next to the fountain basin, which collects spring water, there are two benches and an access staircase in front of the ensemble. Vine plants have partly adopted this system. The age of the well has not yet been determined. Stylistically it belongs to the 19th century; it was renovated around 1994.
