Fagne de Malchamps

The Fagne de Malchamps is a green setting which benefits from the status of a protected reserve. It is crossed right through by a duckboard which runs along the Vecquée. Lands as far as the eye can see offering enchanting landscapes in all seasons.

From the wooden walkways, wonderful views open up again and again with a great panorama.

On beautiful hiking trails and wooden plank footbridges you hike here over the wide moor landscape of the Venns of Malchamp. Since the trees and bushes are very low, you can enjoy a wonderful view in many places.

Unfortunately the noise of the nearby road disturbs the idyll a bit. But the forest is already worth seeing.

As part of a more general program to repair the gratings, carried out jointly with the Minister of Tourism, Valérie de Bue, the wooden paths which allow walkers to evolve above the wet and peaty ground of the Fagne de Malchamps , in Spa, will be gradually replaced, in order to ensure the safety of walkers, the preservation of biodiversity and the tourist charm of the place. A budget of 1 million euros has been released by the Government of Wallonia to enhance this remarkable natural site.


Last January, the Nature and Forest Division wanted to replace the gratings in poor condition in the Fagne de Malchamps with a gravel pit, but the permit was refused by the delegated official of the Walloon Region. The only solution was repair. With the cost that it represented. The project to replace the gratings of the Fagne de Malchamps, approved last night by the Walloon Government, is part of the Wallonia Recovery Plan.

Very nice peaceful walk, takes place mainly on gratings. In the middle of the ride, there is a nice observation tower! I recommend!

Beautiful walk through some very high ferns, as far as you can see.

Beautiful hiking trip, but after raining, it can be muddy.
