One of the many beautiful little valleys in this area (along with Meyerbeer, Rau Pendu, Sauvenière, Géronstere, etc.). This area, located in the southern Spa state forest, extends north of the Malchamps peat bog, on the hillside formed by the Wayai valley, at an altitude of 470 to 520 meters.

It is bordered to the north by the Nelis Forest Road, which connects the Thier des Raixhons to the Spa-La Sauvenière Aerodrome, and to the south by the Tir firebreak, which links the Bérinzenne Estate to the same aerodrome at its main entrance.

Its name originates from the rich ironworking history of the Spa region during the Early Modern period (16th century), when forges flourished throughout the Spa district, encompassing the municipalities of Creppe and Spa, attesting to the presence of iron ore in this area.
