The Jungfernbrücke is located in the Hirschgrund at the Gasthaus Königsruhe in the Bodetal directly below the viewpoint on the Roßtrappe. This narrow, stone pedestrian bridge makes it possible to cross the raging mountain river and flows directly into the terrace and beer garden area on the north side. It is one of the few opportunities in the lower Bodetal to get to the other bank of the river without getting your feet wet. To the west of the bridge the valley narrows to a very narrow gorge.

The filigree construction of the Jungfernbrücke forms a strong contrast to the rough environment of rock and white water. According to legend, the structure could only be crossed by virgins, otherwise it would collapse. Because the bridge still exists today, there is probably little truth in this story.

A steep ascent to the Hexentanzplatz begins near the south side of the Jungfernbrücke and ends in the zoo area. The arduous path with numerous serpentines leads more than 250 meters into the air.

Directly east of Königsruhe is the narrow, stone Jungfernbrücke over the Bode. In the direction of Treseburg, shortly after the last building in Königsruhe, the Zinnobersteig to the right leads to the Zinnoberhöhle.

You will find this beautiful bridge and great photo opportunity directly at the Gashaus Königsruhe. A great climb up to La Viershöhe also starts from here.

Beautiful stone bridge over the Bode. Right on the Hirschgrund. The Gasthaus Königsruhe is also here and invites you to take a break.

At the end of the Harz Mountains, the Bodetal is downright alpine and fantastically beautiful. Due to the tourist development from Thale, this section is also feasible for inexperienced hikers👍🥾

Beautiful stone bridge over the Bode, directly on the Hirschgrund. This is also where the Königsruhe inn and stamp number 178 of the Harz hiking nobility are located.

Immediately after the 45-minute descent is the Hirschgrund- a restaurant on the bridge.
Reasonable prices, game goulash with red cabbage and dumplings was very tasty

The Bodetal is part of the Harz Hexenstieg. The Bode has paved its way here through granite rock. The power of water can be clearly seen here. In addition, this area is a nature reserve and you walk a wonderful path into almost pristine nature.
