In the past, it was used to lead back up to the main street and thus to the middle gate, which formed the end of the narrow, medieval town until 1827. As the name suggests, the Heumarkt was used to sell hay, and sometimes you could also buy pigs there. Then as now, this square is bustling with life and there are colorful shops with interesting niche offers.
