In 1934 workers came across an old well. Medieval pottery shards were found, which showed that at that time the well was the center of the fishing and farming village between the dunes. Today you don't see so much of the farming village anymore, but here is the center of activities in Cuxhaven, with lots of possibilities. As a reminder of old times, the relic was bricked up again with coarse sandstone and has now become a symbol of the place
