The signpost in the mud flats near the fairway can be life-saving for the Watt wanderer when the tide comes faster than expected. It shows not only the direction to the beach, but also to one of the two rescue beacons, on which one can climb up if necessary and bring themselves to the rescue to safety.

Time to walk to the sign then takes time.

Nice that there are these turrets. Legend says there is even rum up there for the stranded ...

It is about 3 km from Duhnen to the signpost. Another km to the rescue beacon 2 or 3.

A hike through the Cuxhaven Wadden Sea should definitely be experienced. The Wadden Sea in Cuxhaven is the largest and most beautiful. You can walk out miles, but be careful not to underestimate the distance. Always stick to the recommendations and never alone. The tours are recommended as a novice. You should also have taken a trip to the island of Neuwerk, it is amazing how time and orientation feel out here.
