The dreamy little forest chapel from the 17th century is located in the Eger Forest near Bad Neualbenreuth. The first wooden chapel building in front of it was donated by Magnus Bartels. He was lost in the forest and couldn't find his way out before dark. In his nocturnal prayers to the "Old Lord God" he vowed to donate a chapel if the latter would lead him out of the forest the next day. Indeed, in the morning a white stag showed him the way - and Bartels kept his vows.

Hiking

The "Alter Herrgott" chapel in the Cheb Forest south of Neualbenreuth dates from the 17th century. The chapel was renovated in 2012 by the Waldsassen forestry company. Around 40,000 euros have been invested here. Funded by the Free State of Bavaria, forest administration.
