The Aachener Altstadt is a historic district in Aachen, Germany. It is one of the city's top tourist attractions and is known for its beautiful architecture and rich history. The district has numerous sights, including Aachen Cathedral, Aachen Town Hall, the Elisenbrunnen and the Ponttor.

Worth seeing Gothic town hall and of course the cathedral, in which there are daily guided tours. Mon-Sat: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the hour (additional guided tour in English at 2 p.m.)
Sun: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the hour (additional tour in English at 2 p.m.).
A maximum of 25 people can take part in the guided tours. Tickets are only available on site at the Dominformation. Access to the choir hall and the royal throne is only possible with a guided tour. As the mausoleum of Charlemagne, the collegiate church was the coronation site of Roman-German kings from 936 to 1531.
