The procession of princes on Dresden's Augustusstrasse is now one of the sights of the city on the Elbe. The 102 meter long porcelain mural shows the rulers of the House of Wettin in chronological order as a column riding one behind the other. This masterpiece, which is over a hundred years old and roughly life-sized, has a copy on Saalestrasse in Wettin that is not quite as large. There are dedicatory sayings in front and at the end. Under each rider is the name of the ruler and the period of his reign. In detail these are:

    Conrad the Great (1127–1156)
    Otto the Rich (1156–1190)
    Albert the Proud (1190–1195)
    Dietrich the Distressed (1195–1221)
    Henry the Illustrious (1221–1288)
    Albert the Degenerate (1288–1307)
    Frederick the Bitten (1307–1324)
    Frederick the Serious (1324–1349)
    Frederick the Strict (1349–1381)
    Frederick the Quarrelsome (1381–1428)
    Ernst (1464–1486)
    Frederick the Meek (1428–1464)
    Albrecht the Brave (1486–1500)
    Frederick the Wise (1486–1525)
    John the Steadfast (1525–1532)
    Johann Friedrich the Magnanimous (1532–1547)
    George the Bearded (1500–1539)
    Henry the Pious (1539–1541)
    Maurice (1547–1553)
    August (1553–1586)
    Christian I (1586–1591)
    Christian II (1591–1611)
    Johann Georg I (1611–1656)
    Johann Georg II (1656–1680)
    John George III. (1680–1691)
    Johann Georg IV (1691–1694)
August II (August the Strong, 1694–1733)
    August III (1733–1763)
    Friedrich Christian (1763)
    Friedrich August the Just (1763–1827)
    Anton the Kind (1827–1836)
    Friedrich August II (1836–1854)
    Johann (1854–1873)
    Albert (1873–1902)
    George (1902–1904)

There are also almost sixty other figures, as shown by a recount for a depiction of the royal procession in Dresden, which came to a total of 94 people. Wettin's example is twenty meters long and made of plastic. It was donated and installed by local ferryman Reinhard Zametschnik, who commissioned a specialist company to reproduce the mural by Wilhelm Walther (1826-1913), as the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung reported at the time. Walther also immortalized himself on the mural and can be seen as the last person in the royal procession on the far right.
