The Templars became too powerful and were fought.
One rarely finds evidence of their work, which is why the Kiwas is very special.
There are also remains of old paintings.

Templar Chapel of Our Lady Mücheln

The early Gothic gem from the second half of the 13th century is somewhat hidden between Halle and Wettin and is one of the few remains of the knightly order founded in Jerusalem in 1118, which was abolished in 1312. The Coming (that's what the monasteries of the knightly orders are called) can only be traced back to Mücheln from 1270, so it only existed for a few decades. In neighboring Wettin, the year before, the Templars had received the right of patronage for the St. Peter's Chapel (removed in 1840) in Wettin Castle, a sure indication that in Mücheln the Wettins in particular supported the order, especially since Count Dietrich II of Brehna- Wettin himself became a Knight Templar.
The vehemence with which the French king acted against the order from 1307 onwards is particularly clear in the first action, which included the confiscation of all goods and the arrest of all members of the order in one day, which may seem absurd in view of the five-digit number of members. but was cleverly planned and successfully carried out in France. This happened on Friday, October 13, 1307 and significantly influenced the expression “Black Friday,” which is still used today, even though its origins lie in the early days of Christianity. So that the Pope, to whom the order was directly subordinate, did not fall under the spell himself, he took over the proceedings after a number of Templars had already been executed at the stake in Paris, and prevented this by finally dissolving the order on March 22, 1312 Progression of the process.
