Yes, the Johannashaller is something special in our corner.
He's also slightly treacherous. It really starts from the left-hand bend with the maximum incline at around 170 m. After that it gets slightly flatter. But if you think that's it, you're wrong. After approx. 100 m short break, the 2nd ladder to heaven comes almost to the bus turning loop.
Very important: put on the lowest gear right at the bottom, because changing gears on the incline is almost impossible due to the very high chain tension. And if you miss a step, you fall over immediately!
I used to ride the Johahashaller from Eisleben a few times a year. The first time 57 years ago. With the then smallest possible translation of 48:23 you had to kner a lot. In GDR times, the stick was part of the Saaletal cycle races with start and finish in Beesenstedt and from 1984 to 1991 also the Seeburg triathlons, all of which I completed. At the Johannashaller I had a home advantage.

This detour in the Salzatal is worthwhile for everyone who would like to incorporate a challenge into their training. On a short but intense steep part you can actually climb 18%. Enjoy it😀

The ascent is really tough and is a good training opportunity in our otherwise rather flat area ...
