The memorial commemorates the Seewalds, who built an inn on this site in 1877. Today you will find an idyllic clearing here, framed by trees.

Hiking

Thank you for the pictures of this place of my ancestors. In the immediate vicinity of the memorial stone, you can still see the foundations of the house that was demolished in 1956 as part of the Iron Curtain. The picture above the memorial plaque, showing the houses that once stood here, was placed by my father after the border was opened around 1999. In this picture, you can also see the rock into which the memorial plaque was embedded in 1927.
