The moor has developed its very own charm again in recent years. Invites you to take a leisurely hike and collect impressions.

Since 2005 renatured raised bog, which was formerly used for peat extraction. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Bavarian Forest National Park, the area around Finsterauer Filz, Hammerklause and the Buchwald / Bucina border crossing is to be added to the national park on October 7, 2020. Approx. 600 ha additional area: this makes it the largest forest national park in Germany (before the Harz). This allows the CSU to pat on the shoulder again. But the lynxes that roam there will be much more pleased.

Protected high moor on the edge of the NP. Observe directions. Renaturation processes are to be resurrected in its old form
