Before the Peace Park was established by the Frankenberg city council, a cemetery with a prayer hall stood on this site.
This cemetery was laid out in 1555 and expanded in 1790 to encompass the area of today's Peace Park.
The present-day Peace Park, historically a public garden, is a protected garden monument.
