The column stands on the edge of the market in Frankenberg. Benches are also set up to rest.

The column was erected in 1725 on the market square opposite the town hall. It consists of Hilbersdorf porphyry tuff. In 1966 it was so desolate that a copy was made by the Frankenberg sculptor H. Thiel, which was unveiled on October 2, 1969.
