The Neurüdnitz–Siekierki European Bridge is a unique attraction for cyclists – the longest crossing of the Oder (770 m), transformed into a picturesque trail with a viewing terrace over the floodplains protected by the Cedyński Landscape Park. It is a great place to observe birds and wildlife, especially in September, when the deer rut is in progress. The former railway bridge from the Cold War era, now renovated, connects Polish and German cycling routes, creating great conditions for planning longer trips, e.g. using the ferry in Gozdowice. The route leads mainly on flat, asphalt and paved terrain – ideal for trekking and gravel bikes.

Start The route of the Western Lake District R20, also known as the route of the "thousand lakes". We can start our bicycle trip here on the so-called kilometer zero, on the bridge in Siekierki, i.e. the Polish-German border. The old railway bridge has been transformed into a bicycle route with a viewpoint over the Oder and the unusual Kostrzyneckie Rozlewiska. The route leads mainly along asphalt bicycle roads built on the railways of the Myśliborskie and Choszczno Lakelands, reaching the most popular lake districts - Iński, Drawskie and Szczecinek. The main route runs through five landscape parks, and its "Szczecin" branch marked with number 20A crosses the Bukowa Primeval Forest. People looking for safe and well-marked sections will be most interested in the southern part of the route from Siekierki to Ińsk. The entire route can be recommended to more advanced cycling tourists.

The bike path on the Polish side of the former railway line is of better quality than on the German side.

Nevertheless, the bike path along the entire bridge is excellent.

The 20-km bike path isn't completely finished yet, but it's still very pleasant to ride in most sections.
