Bike Touring Highlight
As far as I know, this bridge is from 2021 passable for pedestrians and cyclists. When exactly, remains to be seen! Until then you should leave it quietly at the railway bridge before you rename the bridge "klangvoll" in Europabrücke.
If the project actually realized, it would be a great gain for the cyclists, if you could then go on the Polish side on the bike path "Green Oder" to Moryn (formerly Mohrin). So far this is only possible by detours via Hohenwutzen or the ferry at Güstebieser Loose.

Railway bridge to cross the Oder, built in 1890 and demolished in 1945 by German troops. 1955 was the reconstruction of the bridge to use this for military purposes. Since mid-2014, the bridge was again temporary, d. H. open on weekends. Between Poland and Germany commuted a Handhebeldraisine as a bridge taxi, which could take bicycles from one side to the other. Since 2015, the Draisinenverbindung is interrupted due to nature conservation concerns.

Yesterday I took a bird's eye view of the Europabrücke (see pictures below) and was amazed that the work on the Polish side is in full swing to make the bridge passable for cyclists and pedestrians. Would it be nice if the bridge was finally released in 2021?

Here the Oder-Neisse cycle path crosses the cycle path on the old railway line. The path on the old railway line comes from Wriezen and even further from Strausberg, very nice bike path, best and fastest way from Berlin to the Oder. From here you can follow the Oder-Neisse cycle path in both directions, the route on the Oder, often directly on the dike with a view of the Oder is also very nice to drive, only strenuous in wind, best to go in the wind direction if it works. Very nice old railway bridge to Poland. The railway line on the Polish side was also expanded as a cycle path and the bridge is to be renovated so that you can cycle directly to Poland and continue on the cycle path there, let's see when that becomes. Then the bridge is of course more beautiful than it already is when you can finally use it.

Crossing point of the Oder-Neisse cycle path with the disused railway line Wriezen - Jädickendorf.
This is part of the Oderbruchbahnradweg, now well paved.
A grandiose bridge, but unfortunately so far only on the Polish side with a bike path, only a few hundred meters are missing.

while yesterday on the Polish side one could observe and hear the hustle and bustle and work on the bridge, on the German side there was absolute calm. Nothing happened - but - a sign has already been put up and a new padlock has been attached !!

When I was at the bridge in September 2020, I heard that the opening for cyclists and pedestrians was to be expected in December 2021. The Poles would like to have it earlier and are doing something for it. Only Germany is apparently still having a hard time.
