    Variety for the whole family

In southern East Frisia, along the Jümme, the towns of Detern, Filsum and Nortmoor form the joint municipality. Each of the places is unique and worth visiting.

Detern, a historic market town, was once the gateway to East Frisia. Detern discovered tourism early on and is a state-recognized resort.

Filsum is a typical East Frisian clustered village with many historic agricultural buildings in the town center. The “XXL East Frisian”, known from television, also lived here.

Nortmoor, in the immediate vicinity of the town of Leer, is also characterized by agriculture, but also by a large industrial area where the Bünting food company is based.

The highlight to the right of the Jümme should actually be a section highlight. Basically, the path leads behind Detern in front of the Aper Tief, turning off along the Jümme to Tange and Barßel, where we also cross the Nordloher Tief. The route is easy to drive and offers a great view of the Jümme and its lowlands. The route was partially renovated around 2919, which of course makes the cyclist's heart beat faster.

The Jümme emerges from the Barßeler Tief at the point where the Dreyschloot branches off to the left to the Leda. The stretch of the Jümme between the branch of the Dreyschloot and its junction with the Leda measures 18.33 km.

Together with the Leda, the Jümme forms a "two-stream region", the Leda-Jümme area, one of the most scenic areas in East Frisia.
