This spring belonged to the city, which had to maintain it and preserve its water quality. Contrary to what legend has it, it was never reserved for use by lepers. Today's wash house dates from the 19th century. As the vault collapsed in several places, it was closed in 1953 with a reinforced concrete slab. In 1986 the fountain was restored.
