The former hospital for the city's poor, built between 1613 and 1686, presents its façade, rigorously designed, like that of a palace, on the canal of the tanners: an elegant, sober style also characterizes the courtyard around which the service areas are arranged were grouped on the ground floor, while the sickrooms were on the first floor. The former pharmacy, the office of the Superior of the Sisters of Helligen Martha and the chapel still remind of the building's past as a hospital, which was in operation until 1973. The building now houses the media library and the city archive.
