In the meantime several hundred ibex live on the main ridge of the Allgäu Alps, after they were almost completely extinct around 1900. On the rocky slopes and meadows around the Heilbronner Weg the proud mountain goats can be observed very well. Here, the ibex have become accustomed to the mountaineers and watch the bipeds peacefully from afar while scrambling.
