Tips
Oldest mountain trail in the Allgäu Alps (1899), which has retained its original character. The not too high degree of difficulty is compensated by the length of the Heilbronner Höhenweg.

The Heilbronner Weg is definitely one of the most beautiful hiking trails we have walked. There is a bit of everything: scrambling and climbing. A ladder that you have to climb up or down from and the Hans Kaiser Steg, the ladder that lies across the path that you have to cross. In difficult places there are wire ropes as handrails. The view is magnificent in great weather. Unfortunately, from the ladder onwards the weather changed and it became foggy and started to rain. We had to be particularly careful on the descent towards the Rappensee Hut as the path became very slippery.
