Uwe Seeler (November 5, 1936 in Hamburg, † July 21, 2022 in Norderstedt) was a German soccer player and later official. During his playing days, he was considered one of the best center forwards in the world. Seeler played for Hamburger SV throughout his career and is considered the "greatest HSVer of all time" and one of the greatest legends in German football. In the 1963/64 season he was the first top scorer in the Bundesliga. As captain of the German national team, he became vice world champion in 1966 and took third place at the 1970 World Cup. Because of his services to German football, the DFB appointed him honorary captain of the national team in 1972 as the second player ever. From 2003, Seeler was an honorary citizen of his hometown.

This gravesite is particularly easy to find. It is located on the shortest possible connecting route between the southern exit of the Women's Garden and Cordesallee. On Cordesallee there is a sign pointing to the grave site.
