Hiking Highlight (Segment)
Lake Bramfeld is located in the Steilshoop district of Hamburg. It has an elongated shape and is fed by several sources. It measures approximately 1.2 km in length from east to west. The width is significantly smaller. A path runs almost 3 km long on the bank.
After the lake was formerly used by fish farms, it is now a model biotope, the water surface of which is maintained by a fishing association. The riparian areas are overgrown, and several environmental projects have been created here. It is an important local recreation area for the people of Hamburg.

In the district of Steilshoop, Lake Bramfeld enchants with beautiful nature in the middle of the city - an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation, joggers and nature lovers.
Lake Bramfeld lies exactly on the border between the districts of Hamburg Nord and Wandsbek. It borders on the north of the Ohlsdorf cemetery, which is known as one of the largest park cemeteries in the world, and is not far from Hamburg Airport. Although there are only a few green corners in the Steilshoop district, there is a particularly beautiful one with Lake Bramfeld. An additional plus is that the green oasis in northeast Hamburg is less frequented by visitors than the city park just a few kilometers away.
