The first mention of the fishing settlement of Siekierki dates back to 1355. The village was under the patronage of the Cistercian order from Cedynia. The first temple was built there then, which burned down with the entire village in 1767. The villagers rebuilt the village along with the church. In the 19th century, the church turned out to be too small for the dynamically developing settlement. So it was dismantled and a new, much larger one was built. This one survived the war with minor damage and masses were even held there. Unfortunately, in 1957 the church was dismantled. The current one was built only in 1990.
