Nachtweidesee or Griessee is a quarry pond near Kahl am Main and part of the Kahler Seenplatter (Freigerichtseen) between Lower Franconia and the Hessian Main-Kinzig district. Due to its name "Kahler See", the lake is often confused with the Freigericht-Ost lake, which is also known as the Kahler Campingsee.
The Kahler See originated from the former Gries gravel pit and is located between the Unterwald and the Prischoss on the edge of the Kahl municipality. The lake has a water surface of up to 12 hectares and belongs to the Vorspessart lakes, which in turn are part of the Kahler Seenplatte. Since the quarry pond is a designated water protection area, the lake is largely fenced and only accessible from some sides. Bathing in the water is not officially permitted, but it is used again and again for wild bathing. An overflow connects the Kahler See with the neighboring Neufeldsee.

Very beautiful fishing lakes, because you can watch the birds great.

It's a beautiful lake that's freely accessible. However, swimming is prohibited.
