The "Old Town Hall" fits in wonderfully with the front of the historic buildings on the main market. With today's use as a café, outdoor gastronomy is also included. Here you can linger and watch the hustle and bustle on the main market.

Old town hall with echoes of Steipen The "old" town hall and department store on the corner of Fleischstraße had an open ground floor with a department store. The "new" town hall stood further east on the corner of the Kornmarkt. Between the two there was another ornamental planting. This northern side of the square was destroyed in the war and later modernized.

The Steipe is a Gothic building on the main market in Trier.
The previous building of the Steipe known today was already called Stype (Trierian for support) and is the oldest community center in Trier, which was temporarily used as a town hall in the 14th century.[1] The Steipe was built around 1430 as a festival and reception building for the citizens at the confluence of Fleischstrasse and Dietrichstrasse with the main market and was largely rebuilt between 1481 and 1483.
