Catch this at the right time of the year and you'll understand why it's called Rhododendron Mile. A rolling road that cuts through Puddletown Forest, you'll fall in love with Southern Dorset's countryside.

Really nice stretch of road. Bit of traffic but generally slow and considerate.

Plenty of off roading in forest which follows the road and a lot of people doing that esp at weekend/holidays.

The Rhododendrons are returning after being extensively cut back in about 2010. Visit in May/June for flowering as Emmie says.

nice ride through the forest. not so many rhododendrons now of course due to Forestry Commission clearance
