This rainy, grim-weather ride included some of the finest riding I've ever done!!! Already amazing from the start in Saapunki, we turned onto a little-used track behind a "puomi" (Swedish: bom / English something like a barrier?) just before 20km and it was so lush and fun from then on.

Local gravel shreds. Gorgeous to be back outside. This route has a bit of everything, but keeps fairly low to avoid snow/ice/cold descents.

Really wanted to check out the bivacco after spotting it as a highlight and were not disappointed. If we'd had more time then we'd have gone to the nearby peak and made a circular loop but we wanted to get back before dark. The trail up there was narrow and very typical of this region. Gorgeous views!

Such a gorgeous winter hiking route with no majorly hard gradients or technical trails. They say the sun always shines on Alpe Teglio and I think there is some truth in that! Would have loved to walk higher than this (as in higher than Alpe Teglio, the route's highest point) but then the snow gets a

Had heard great things about this route and it was really, really great. Hardpacked ground so very little muddiness. Super nice, open trails, shame about the lack of views. Would like to try it in the reverse direction to avoid one steep descent near the quarry.

I think Milan might have prettier parks and softer gravel tracks for long runs, but it was good to explore a new side of the city and run along the river path (definitely better on a bike, I think).

All the highlights in the world can't actually reflect just how great and varied the gravel riding is around here.
